Abstracts and posters

 

Abstract submission

The official language for all oral and poster presentations is English. All abstracts and manuscripts must also be submitted in English.

 

An abstract should be submitted electronically to the Conference Convener (ishs-microhort@ltj.slu.se) by November 30, 2010 according to the format specified below. Abstracts must include the title of the paper, the author name(s) and institution(s) along with the telephone, fax, and E-mail address of the corresponding author. Please indicate whether you wish the paper to be considered for an oral presentation or a poster.

 

Authors will be informed about the status of their contribution on January 20, 2011.

 

Format

Length - up to 400 words (including title, authors list, and affiliation)

Title - Arial 14, bold, left justification

Authors' first and last names - Arial 11, bold, superscript number for affiliations, left justification. Leave one line between the title and the authors’ name

Affiliation - Arial 10, left-aligned, superscript number followed by affiliation, location, etc.

Paragraph - first line no indent, left and right aligned, Times New Roman 10

Page setup - A4 (21 x 29.7 cm), margins 2.54 cm all around; line spacing: single space

Submission of the manuscript for publication in Acta Horticulturae

Electronic copies of the complete manuscript must be received by the Proceedings Editor no later than May 19, 2011.  Papers will be submitted to a double-blind review.  We encourage all non-native English speakers to submit their manuscript for language check before submission to the Proceedings editor.

 

Submitted papers must be not longer than 8 pages including all tables, figures, and references.  Formatting guidelines for abstracts and manuscripts can be found online at http://www.ishs.org/wri/pap1.htm and will be strictly followed. Submissions that do not meet the formatting guidelines will be returned to authors.

Posters

Contributions will be predominantly presented as posters. Poster presentations will be gathered under specific topics and be displayed during formal poster presentation sessions. The time for individual poster presentation is confined to 7 minutes followed by 3 minutes of discussion. At least one of the authors must be at the assigned poster during the designated presentation hours.

 

Poster size: European A0, portrait (84 x 188 cm).

 

The material must be easily read at a distance of 1.5 m. Display of poster hand-outs is encouraged.
