to the first International Symposium on Microbial Horticulture, organized by the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS) in collaboration with the SLU Department of Horticulture and the Postgraduate School Microbial Horticulture (www.phd-microhort.se).
Microbial Horticulture provides innovative solutions for sustainable horticultural production, healthy horticultural products and sustainable environment. It focuses on the potential f microorganisms as tools for sustainable horticultural production and for use in horticultural environments. It is a novel, emerging subject that builds on interactivities within horticulture, plant pathology, microbiology, bio- and food technology. Academics, scientists and industry leaders are invited to participate in the sharing of research-based information within the field of interest.
The meeting will be held May 15–19, 2011 at Alnarp, Sweden.
The primary topics of the meeting are:
Environmentally sound horticultural production
Threats of human and plant pathogens in horticultural production chains
Microbial quality of horticultural growing media
Horticultural production systems as biofactories
Mushroom cultivation
-
Recycling and bioremediation in connection to horticultural production systems
This symposium will be held at thr SLU Campus, Alnarp.
International symposium participants are encouraged to fly in to Copenhagen airport, Denmark, and take the train across the bridge to Malmoe.
